Could it still fly? I guess a bid tried to eat it? Or are they poisonous? Another great shot! Are you on the migration route? Or are they just random stragglers? I would love to see a whole flock of them.

They’re distasteful to birds; it could be that one tried a bite and discovered it didn’t want the rest. But yes, this one was flying, seemingly without too much difficulty.
Arizona is on the migration route, plus this was part of a special exhibition at the Phoenix Botanical Garden. They have a special mesh enclosure set up to house and feed a good number of them, so visitors have a chance to really see them up close.
