A Work in Progress

“Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.” – An old Irish proverb (I think!)

About

I started this blog as a way to share the progress of a painting I was doing with the person on the other side of the country who commissioned it. It has since become a place to share not only the progress of my latest artworks, but something of myself in general as well. Because of that, I’d like this blog to be viewed by my guests the way my home often has been, as a place of peace and respite from the everyday stresses and realities we all must face. For that reason, I will not often discuss here the troubles of world or even of my life (which in all honesty are few in any case); as I see it, there are more than enough places online, including some excellent blogs in the Raccoonosphere, to fill that need.

So in a nutshell, in this blog I’m trying to do my part to add a little Truth, Beauty, Goodness (and occasional Silliness – they always seem to forget that one…) to the virtual world. I do hope that something here makes you smile and feel the burdens of life lift from your shoulders, if only for a few minutes.

Also, this should go without saying but all images on this site are copyrighted by Julie Cork unless otherwise noted. Please ask before using them, and if you ask nicely via e-mail I might even send you a better version for your viewing pleasure.
