Last week on my stroll with the pooches, I spotted this singular blue flower. It was the only one of its kind I saw that day, but the color just jumped out at me. Over the weekend, DH and I went to Home Depot for some much needed backyard tools. We also picked up a flat of flowers, small blue ones that actually seem to be thriving in my pots (for the moment, anyway). They’re much smaller, but the color is arresting – a rich, deep blue that almost seems to vibrate. The interesting thing about this blue, though, is that the camera can’t see it:
The whole flower looks flattened, and on my screen at least it appears very purple. It’s a bit blurry, but it should be just as sharp as the leaf to the right.
With a little distance, the blue comes through slightly better, though they still seem more purple than blue, and still look flat:
