A Work in Progress

“Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.” – An old Irish proverb (I think!)

A Taste of Things to come

Posted by julie on January 31, 2008

Okay, I can’t hold off anymore. This dry ice project has made my inner child positively giddy with delight, so I’m sharing a couple of today’s pictures.

Tiny smoke rings! When I first observed this phenomena last night, I squealed with glee and demanded that my husband come and look. They were shooting up in little puffs, going every which way. They hadn’t done that yesterday afternoon, when I just used water with cranberry juice. Last night I added a little salt and a layer of cooking oil over the top, which apparently added just the right amount of surface tension to create rings.

This one just makes me happy :)

Much more to come…
