An Attempt at Better Video

Posted by julie on March 4, 2008

This one has  sound and is a larger file size (I think), which is why I’m placing it after the jump. I edited with iMovie, then compressed with Sorenson at medium size.  I don’t know how it’ll look until I hit publish, though. Here goes… Read the rest of this entry »

Weekend Movie

Posted by julie on January 20, 2008

DH and I, along with Linda and her husband, saw Cloverfield Friday night. Awesome. It was everything you could want in a movie about a monster wrecking New York, as seen by some ordinary people with a video camera. I had high hopes going into this one, and I was not disappointed. I do recommend sitting towards the back of the theater, though. The nature of the footage can lead to disorientation – getting up to leave, walking was a little tricky for a few minutes, akin to stepping to dry land from a rocky boat.

Ratatouille

Posted by julie on June 9, 2007

Via Drawn!, I stumbled across this movie trailer this morning from Pixar. I shouldn’t be amazed by now – their graphics just keep getting better and better – but this movie is just gorgeous. And from what I can tell the story appears to be a good one; the preview is enough to see that the main characters have some real depth and character. The first scene, of the main character (a rat) running through a kitchen was realistic enough in a lot of ways that it actually grossed me out a little bit, but it also had me laughing.

I think I’ll add this one to the short list of movies I actually want to see in a theater this summer.
