A Work in Progress

“Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.” – An old Irish proverb (I think!)

Giving Thanks

Posted by julie on November 21, 2007

Tonight, my brother J. will be flying in for Thanksgiving weekend. It’ll be just the three of us tomorrow (big Sis couldn’t make it, but we’ll get her and the kids down here one of these days – and if you’re reading this, Sis, I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend and that you and the kids will be making the same kind of good memories that we had when we were kids. I love you guys!), but we’ll be visiting with friends this weekend and I think a good time will be had by all. I hope the same is true for all of my friends out there.

None of this would be possible – my family wouldn’t even exist, in any way shape or form – without the sacrifices made over the centuries by the men and women who were and are willing to put everything on the line for freedom. Today, we have soldiers in the Middle East who are carrying on that honorable tradition. Whatever your feelings on the war may be, our soldiers are working hard to bring the light of freedom to a place that has been very dark for a long time. If you have a moment this weekend, please go here and say thank you.

Happy Thanksgiving!
