He looks more “tawney” than his cousins out West — and not quite as greedy!

  2. julie says:

I think the tawniness was mainly due to the late-afternoon sun. However, he and his pals definitely seemed less food-seeking than the ones I’ve encountered in the Seattle area; ever tried sitting outside at Ivars with a basket of french fries and clams? Sharks have nothing on that feeding frenzy! These were content to mostly wheel around and people-watch.

I think they are on the menu at Rhode Island restaurant — aka, “chicken”.

  4. julie says:

Would that be “Chicken of the Sea?”

  5. our national bird
    gone from eagle to seagull
    gimme a handout

I think he looks pretty regal. Great photo!

  7. Brigid says:

I still laugh at that animated movie Nemo, where the seagulls cry was “mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!.

    Great photo and sentiment.

  8. USS Ben says:

Ha ha! Reminds me of the seagulls and crows near our Wendy’s in Chehalis.
I was in the parking lot eating a cheeseburger and fries and one crow was cryin’ for a handout. I threw out one fry and a flock of seagulls and crows land, surrounding the car.

It was like a scene out of The Birds.
