Beam Me Up

A flawed reflection

still gives more light than man can

when the source is right

fuzz bits and oil drops

enfold delicate petals

(or an alien???)

(That’s sunlight, bounced off a dirty blue patio, illuminating a rosemary bud)

A true close-up! I know from rosemary buds, and I never would have suspected that the photo is of one of those…

If we could look inside our selves with that sort of lens, what might we see!

What I found really fascinating about the rosemary is how droplets of oil are collected all over the surface, gathered atop the tiny white hairs. What appears to be smooth needles from our perspective is anything but. It also explains how just brushing against rosemary transmits the fragrance. The sunlight really made the drops stand out – I was hoping to get an Eyeclops version of the translucence, but found something completely and surprisingly different.

    That thing’s pretty neat.
