Mana from Heaven

This strange creation

crossed my path the other day

more than meets the eye

When I first saw this lying on my lawn, i though it was part of a wasps’ nest, and so of course I thought “Oooo, Eyeclops fodder!’ and picked it up. Turning it over, I realized the back was covered in a fine layer of bristle, and that this was actually some kind of fruit or seed casing which, having served its purpose, had been blown into my yard from heaven knows where. I’ve never seen anything like it, to my knowledge.

Whatever it is, my first thought was correct, in any case. And so this week I have lots of pictures, but I honestly can’t tell you what this is.

You beat me to it, Ben. I was going to sound a warning about sleeping in the same room with it.
