“Lyra and Zoe”

Watercolor, By Ian (age 6)

This past weekend, DH and I spent time with Linda and her family. If you’ve been visiting me a while, you’ve met them here before.

Linda’s boys are very excited about meeting the new baby, and very curious about how he’s going to come out. Also, they are excited that they will be minding the “puppies” for us this week (hence the painting).

Anyway, Ian has a very quick and analytical mind, and had a couple of great theories on how to make the baby come out:

1. I should eat and eat and eat, until he becomes so big he just falls out.

2. OR, I should eat things that he doesn’t like. This will make him mad, and he’ll come flying out by himself. The only drawback with this method, though, is that once he’s not mad anymore, he might want to go back in.

Younger brother C, age 4, just wants to see the baby’s face. When I explained that the baby is inside my tummy where nobody can see it, and that’s why my tummy is so big, he pulled up his own shirt and declared that there’s a baby in his tummy, too. And Ian’s. And DH’s.

Kids are awesome.

-o.o-

Speaking of baby news, for anyone wondering I’m going to be induced tomorrow, just past the due date and timed so that my mom can be here and have a chance to see him before she has to leave on Sunday.

Once we have pictures uploaded, there will be links 🙂
