Fire Flier

The blue ones were slightly bigger, more stately. They’d pick a stem and rest a spell, but in this rowdy crowd they were a minority. Occasionally a big camo green would hover by, the Hueys of the group, their wings beating the air into audible submission. The oranges, though, were as fired-up as their color suggested, stopping to rest just long enough to tease the lens into thinking it could catch them, then dancing away across the pond, leading the eye on a merry chase, playing Keep Away at the water’s edge.
