Friday Portrait, October 28

Today’s sitter was Miss Marjorie. I decided to go back to pencil and paper after finding a near-empty sketchbook stashed away in my car.

Nice work. Maybe it’s just my black-and-white mind, but I really like pencil sketches.

This lady reminds me of my rowdy old friend, Nell, who riveted planes together during WWII over on the west side of Fort Worth. Was her hat, by any chance, red?

Nope – dark blue, but it was woven out of plastic grocery bags (not that I would have known if someone hadn’t told me). I’ll bet Miss Marjorie could have been called “rowdy” at various points in her life, though 🙂

    Excellent sketch Julie!
Like Mushroom I like sketches too. I also like black n white flicks. There’s still things one can do with B & W that colors can’t do. Of course the reverse is also true. Pros n cons to both I reckon. :^)

  4. Always lovely stuff here!
